At the hospital, again, second night staying with my parents.

Apparently, my father is sleep most of the day, due to the medication that they gave him. I guess it's better than him being in pain or vomiting his guts out. Now, it's my mother I'm worrying about. It's not good for someone to stay with the patient 24/7, stress level is too high.

And my aunt won't stop shooting her mouth off.

She just doesn't know when to stop, she wants what she wants when she wants the way that she wants it. Even when it wasn't her business. I'm stop dancing to her tune, my mom still is to some extend. But I'm sure that will end as soon as she saying the shit she said to my mother's face, she's said to someone else though.

What. A. Bitch.

When the doctor give us a go to take him home, we're taking him home. I'm sure she'll fight to take him to her place, and I'll tell her to fuck off. Bad enough that she wanna prolong his pain, (but dull it by wanting to give him drugs) and it's all for herself and not for him, nope, nothing to do with other people, it's for her.

I'm so sick of her now, this is why I never gone by that way for years.

I need to occupy myself or I'll go nuts.

The stress make me sick, my head kept spinning and my sinuses hurt.

At the hospital on my laptop and hospital wifi.

My father has been in the hospital for about five days now. He's really sick and we could lose him really soon. But now we are hoping that the drug will work and he's not in pain. I don't want him to be in pain. He's really frail right now, barely able to walk by himself, but being the stubborn guy that he is, he still try to.

He's lucid, which is a good thing, I'm told that he's been sleeping all day today, after he's taken the drug. We're also wait and see if there will be any side effects, vomiting and such, so far there's none, but you can never be sure.

Normally, I would be at home, and my aunt would stay with my mom through the night, but she has things she has to take care of, so I'm here tonight, I doubt I'd sleep much, since I'm a light sleeper, but I'm rather exhausted myself, so. It could go both way, me lying awake all night, or slept right through everything.

I do need some sleep though, so maybe a few hours here and there if I have to get up to help him to the bathroom and stuff.

A movie would be helpful right now but well, I guess I have to watch it on my laptop instead.

Death and Dying : man, how I wish I'd taken that course.

My father is dying.

I've said it out loud and I know it. I guess it's better to accept it, but at the same time I don't think the relative on my father's side do.

I'm not a very extroverted person, and people that knows me knew that. However, these people, who were so concern about my father and I have to give it to them, because I know that they do love my father, but they don't know me.

The fact that he ran away for a couple of day, my aunt thought I was such a horrible daughter for not calling her to ask. Why didn't she let me know that she knows something? How am I suppose to know to call, when she was the one that told me she didn't know where he was? I'm sick of her already.

Bitching and moaning, isn't that what I'm supposed to be doing and not her, this is my father, after all. She did things without tell me, that's fine, but she did it without telling my mother, is that how they do it these days?

My father was a good man, yes, but whatever he does, other than helping them, and what he did in the last couple of years, they had no idea.

She applied her standard to me, I'm not her and I'm not her kids. No wonder people are sick of her, I AM sicked of her already. Let's just say, I won't be seeing her for a long time to come, however this thing play out. I can take advice, but advice not demands.

Not to speak ill of the man, but is it right for him to go seek attention outside, while we work our asses off, then saying we don't pay attention to him. We all do what we were taught to do and act the way we were taught, what's to say which one is wrong way to act. I wish they would just fuck off. It is getting tedious to bear their grieve on top of mine.

And I'd like to ask, what about the one that got left behind. So we're suppose to work as well as stay up all night to watch him. Can't do both, someone has to pay for the treatment and hospital, and we are paying, so there's gotta be money coming in. I can't certainly say fuck the work, because the consequence is long lasting.

Even after the dead is gone and buried.

Illness, New Anime :

My father is sick.

He has liver cancer, and it just got diagnosed several weeks ago. Last stage.

Like a bomb, he was fine one week and suddenly he was bed ridden, it hurts too much to actually move apparently. Anyway, we are doing what we can, and so we went unconventional ways right now, due to the fact that the hospital couldn't do anything for him. Other than giving him pain killer that is.

Anyhow, my mom is staying with him. So, it's me opening the store and stay till closing. Then after that I have to drive over to see them.

My aunt took him to her house, she bought and all decorated and fixed up, but she didn't plan on actually moving in, so the timing was perfect. It was quieter there and stuff... fresh air.

Anyhow, I drove there to see them after the store close, and then come home, so I barely have time.

I'm exhausted now.

LOL

Oh a happier note, Mai Otome S.ifr is out!!

Yay!

No Shizuru or Natsuki, as far as I can tell, but I like Rena Sayer, sadly her offspring was rather... um... uncool. Her first robe was Lofty Crimson Jade, which broke due to the fact that she was much too powerful and the GEM couldn't handle it.

First ep and we got a little girl girl there.. with Elliot trying to cope a feel with Rena. It was pretty cute. LOL. I was happy watching it. I don't care what they say.

I like all the series.. Mai HiME, Mai ZHiME, Zwei, and now S.ifr.

It's be really perfect if there're some sort of ShizNat incarnation somewhere.

I love books, and I always love a well organized bookshelves, and normally, mine would be trying to get the same series, or the same author together, but this color coding... it's just gorgeous.

I wish I could get a bookshelves like this.

Someday.

And someday I'll have wall to wall ceiling to ceiling bookshelves.

New toy, website, hosting...

Well, I went to look around for some webcam today. I didn't get it.

I wanted Creative ones, because they have some of the smaller ones, I don't want the big, octopus look alike perching on top of my monitor, so the logictec ones were out of the question. My friend asked why would I need one, who am I gonna chat with.

I don't know.

I just want one. LOL. Isn't that enough reason to get one? (well, maybe not)

Since I didn't see the one that I wanted, I went ahead and looked at some HDD external case. I want one that is also a media player. I didn't get any yet, obviously, since mom won't give me the money (I asked her for my birthday, well, it's been almost a month I don't even see a bill coming this way. ) I guess I'll have to get that for myself as well. Wow, don't you feel the love?

Anyhow, what I got today was 2 movies, and a game. Also a charger for rechargeable batteries. It's a rapid charge one, that will get your batteries charged fully in 15 minutes. It came with 4 rechargeable AA batteries, and 2 AAA. Man, it's the best, I go through batteries so quickly it's starting to become really tedious to keep replacing them, not to mention the amount of garbage that created.

So, as of now I have about 10 AA rechargeable ones, and 2 AAA ones. I'm all set. My wireless mouse and keyboard both use batteries, so is my toothbrush. And you wouldn't believe how quickly. Especially the toothbrush.

A friend of mine asked me to do a website design, I said sure, if you're not in a hurry, I don't really have the time. Well, I banged something out and sent some draft to her already. We'll see how that goes.

Also borrowed some Japanese novel from another friend, they are detective novel 'Kyuketsuki wa Otoshigoro' 'Yuki Ni Kieta Akuma' 'Mineko Homuzu series'by Akagawa Jiro. Don't know if I'm gonna read it, but we'll see.

New thing to watch, sick friend

I'm watching Ugly Betty.

Well, it wasn't my intention to really watch this show, I normally don't watch these kind of show, because I like it better when someone dies in my show. LOL.

Thus, the Criminal Minds, CSI, Medium, Ghost Whisperer, Supernatural etc.

Like that's a surprise, right?

At least I'm starting to write, a little bit, which is really a good thing.

It's Chinese New Year today, and so far no one gives me red envelop yet. *sigh* I guess I'm getting nothing again this year.

Life just sink a little lower to another level. *sniff*

Anyhow, I've been dubbing Ugly Betty season 1 that I've tapped to my friend. She liked it, and now I'm watching season 2. Although, I do feel that if I watch a lot of episodes of something so close together, I'll get sick of it, and I won't finish it.

Which happened before.

Anyway.

I was chatting with a friend the other night, not my usual early morning time, just late at night (before midnight, let's say) And while I was chatting (with my bluetooth headset on) I go under my desk to tie up my wires and cables over again. I used the metallic blue twist tie (decorative ribbon, they said on the paper roll) And well, I just didn't like how it doesn't hold really tight (It would if I did it in the first place and not just do it after the fact) and so I took those out and just use the zip tie.

Someone asked why don't I use something that can be take out and put back again, like velcro. Really, people. How often do you think you gonna change the location of a modem? Power strip? Printer?

Velcro is considerably more expensive than zip tie, zip tie is cheap and quite strong, I can't justify the extra spending on something I probably never gonna change the location ever again. Or if I do, it'll be long, long while yet. So, what's a few ziptie.

I cut a few already, and probably gonna be another few more that gets cut. I bought all sizes, shortest, short, medium, long, overkilled? Maybe. LOL.

But it's useful.

Save me the clutter of all the tangled wires, and dust that collected there.

I told a friend that I'll do it for her, she said let her get settled first, and that was, what... almost six months now?

Well, she's sick, right now. First fever, now cold. She needs to get exercising some, it'll help. Speaking of working out. I should too. But I'm feeling like I'm getting a flu.. it's weird. But what else is new...

Really, really sleepy now.

Hey Cin!

Happy Chinese New Year.

Now I just wish for a bigger desk, heavy, hardwood. like teak. I saw a few that I'd love, but then, I guess I have to move first before i could have that, since my parents saw it fit to have built in furniture in my room. Grr...

Wireless desktop, Comforter cover

I bought Kensington Pilotboard Wireless Desktop set almost a year ago, it was on sale at the time, and the sale's men told me that the warranty was a year and if something broke I can bring it back and change for a new one.

Well, a few weeks ago, the mouse broke.

I didn't really know what happened, only that my mother changed the batteries and it just went dark. There was no laser blinking like it should, so I thought hey a new battery, nothing, and so I took it out and put it back in, there was an instant of first contact that the laser came back on, and blank again. It was strange, and in came on for a little while, then blank again.

I looked at the sticker at the bottom (where they have their store's name and the date I bought it) and I still have another month before it expire. I didn't have time to go change it, but finally today I had my cousin take the whole set and went to the store.

I expected a little difficulty, I don't know why.

But nothing, they changed it, without much of a comment, and so my cousin brought it back to me, I tested it and it works perfectly (a new set, but they kept the box, which is good, I don't need more trash) My mom should be happy now, she didn't like the small mouse that came with the laptop.

I got a new comforter cover today, it's a t-shirt 100% cotton, I love it!! I bought a set of sheets for my father a while back for Father's day, and he didn't say anything about it, so I don't know if he likes it or not. I wanna get a set for me, but well, I have way too many sets already and my mother would definitely give me crap for buying more. So, I just get the cover and that's it. I need to send it out to be wash first.

Man, money just go out pretty fast. LOL.

I wanna get webcam for my desktop at home. Not sure why yet. I've been wanting to, but I'll think about it first, do I need it, not really, is there anything else I have to get, yes, so, I'll think about it for a while.

ISP, Continue from last post, really long e-mail, and Cindy!

Well, on my last post I was talking about movies I watch.

I do like big movie as well, you know epic film. LOTR, HP, PoTC. The kind that looks good on big screen.

My favorite movie of all time is Silence of the Lamb. I like the book as well, actually I like all of the books, Hannibal, Red Dragon, Silence of the Lamb, as for Hannibal Rising, well, I didn't have time to read it yet. But I did catch a glimpse of what Lector's childhood tragedy from Hannibal already.

For some reason I like Ghosts of Mississippi, don't ask me why, because I have no idea.

I used to go to sleep watching Autopsy on HBO. It's a part of America Undercover series that they have. Autopsy talks about what else Autopsies, so there were murder victims, serial killer. They show actual footage too.

Another interest of mine : Dissociative Identity Disorder, or Multiple Personality Disorder. Movie that brought this on was Primal Fear, good movie, I loved it! However the one in this was only a genius boy mimic the symptoms and not really suffering from it.

Oh yeah, another one, courtroom drama. James Woods was so good in Indictment.

I can go on and on, so I'll save some for later.

Hey Cin,

I hope you feel better, but yeah when you get busy your old injuries tended to come back and haunt ya. Happened with my right elbow too. (A dog bit me several years ago, the bite didn't bother me as much as how many shots I had to get for it!) For some reason Friends wasn't all that amusing to me. I have a morbid sense of humor, so black comedy with some sense of irony will have a better chance of making me laugh. My friend loves Friends though.

I'll e-mail you in a few days.

I'm getting my ISP changed, so, I'm calling them to get the details tomorrow, (the new ISP) I need to know what promotional they have and all the little details, although my cousin uses this company and they are pretty good. I can get it up and running within 7 days. (so, now I'm calling them) Free modem. Good. Tomorrow I'm gonna pick up the application. And I better cancel the old one while I'm at it too.

Well, my birthday was last Saturday, and my mother went to see a medium. Yes, a medium. Anyhow, long story short, we got a bunch of things we have to do yet. *sigh* I wrote a long e-mail to 2 friends of mine about it. I'm not writing it here because it's so damn hard to explain. And this post will be like a short novella.

Not very pretty.

I really should take a picture to show them while I explain too. Might make it easier.

Nah..

I'm gonna go shower and watch Rendition now.

There, another favorite right now... Meryl Streep. Yeah, she's awesome. So far I've got...

Music of the Heart
Death Becomes Her
Kramer Vs. Kramer
A Cry in the Dark
Angels in America
The River Wild
Defending Your Life
Silkwood
Sophie's Choice
The House of the Spirits
Marvin's Room
The French Lieutenant's Woman
The Deer Hunter
Adaptations
The Devil Wears Prada
A Prairie Home Companion

I want Plenty, but well, maybe in a month or two I'll start ordering again, have to pay off what I have on the card first.

Needs must.

The type of movies we watch, books we read

Have you ever notice these things?

In comparison to some of your friends?

Well, I just read a friend's blog, and she talked about the romantic comedy 'Nothing Hill'. Have I seen it?

Yeah, I have.

Was it that memorable?

Well, not really, and until she brought this up, I hadn't thought of it in years, and perhaps the little line in the movie was stuck with me more than the rest of the movie itself. But then I like quotes, so it's no surprise that I remembered that little line in the movie. I always remembered them long after the movie itself long faded from my memory.

And so I was looking through my collection, because my other friend was asking what movie I have (so she could borrow..) Well, let's start with my series.

Buffy : The Vampire Slayer (who doesn't have those?)
The X-Files (I waited forever for these to come out)
The Dead Zone (I like the ep where it doesn't concern the damn arch they had)
CSI (I watch all of them)
Supernatural (really, you watch Buffy, then you can't really miss this one)
Criminal Minds (ah... like they said American favorite past time)
Medium (I dream of dead people)
Ghost Whisperer (look above and ask me if I can miss this one)
Monk (just because)
Bones (again... I like these kind of stuff)
NCIS (need I repeat myself?)
Shark (I like James Woods)
Women's Murder Club (Angie Harmon... yumm)

So... my friend borrow, Criminal Minds, The Dead Zone, Buffy and Supernatural... well, and she said don't you watch anything else?

Um...

No.

Of course even my anime... she said that do they have to be depressing? I said not all of them!

Sick kitty, Slightly clean puppy, New puppy salon

Well, Monday morning (slightly toward noon) I dropped off the pup at the new store, my friend took hers there, and apparently they are pretty good, and very nice to the dog, they didn't keep him in the cage. Anyway, they just opened the store so they don't have that many customer yet. So, not a lot of waiting.

So, I took Gizmo, and he was his usual self, messy all around, he's been romping around in the garden, after all. And he needed a little trim.

So I went in, the girl there was still in PJ, so I asked if the store is open, she said it is. I told her the dog needed a bath, and some trim, she asked what style I told her not like my friend's dog (money bag) She laughed. Yeah, he got all his fur buzzed off! It was funny. We thought he looks like Yoda!

Anyhow, I picked up Gizmo and he was all right. :)

My aunt once again picked up a kitten, well, the mother left the thing on the steps of my house, so she picked it up. It was sicked, so I said we should take it to the vet. And we did, I took Gizmo too.

The kitten has cold. So it's a shot for her, a good thing we brought her to the vet, otherwise she would've die. So now my aunt will keep an eye on her. I'm pretty sure she'll survive, can't say the same for my aunt, since she's gonna be up and awake all hour to see that the kitten gets to eat and stuff.

Gizmo got 3 shots, no wonder he won't turn his back to the Vet. LOL.

I also bought a hairdryer too, because I lost the other one, it was kinda small anyhow. A new one is good. Not that I ever blow dry my hair, (a reason I kept it short) But when I give the dogs a bath, I needed it. Last time I let him sit in front of the fan and I had the a/c on. He was shivering and whimpering, it was pathetic if not a little funny.

Saturday is my birthday, I'm trying to get another friend down here for that. I mean, last time she was over we barely get to talk, since she was only over for a night, and not even 24 hours, she got here in the afternoon and left early in the morning. It sucked!

Hopefully, she'll be able to.

It's well into the new year now, and well, all I can say is same old shit different year. I still can't go anywhere, can't really do anything. My domain is due for renewal, and I'm thinking of changing.

My friend wanted to learn some music instrument and I think I might join her. Piano? Violin? I'd love to know how to play both, but better focus on one thing. I think that too many things at once will be too much and I'll lose interest.

Medium, National Treasure, birthday plan

Medium : The first episode for this season, a really late start to the season. But I guess it's a good time, since it retain the old slot of Monday night. And while nothing else is on because of the strike and all.

I wonder how that's gonna play out. I hope it all ends well.

Anyway, back to Medium.

Now Allison and family had to deal with the fact that she was 'out' and everyone knew her name and half of the people believe her, the other half didn't. Manny was gone, about to come back, he didn't know what was gonna happen to him, his career and everything else. The new DA was an ass that concern more with the image, as far as I can tell.

Even Scanlon, he had seen what Allison can do and yet he ignored her. I do understand that association with Allison made him some sort of social outcast, so much so that he was reduced to talking about safety with the school children. So, he's resenting her, but then over the last season he's been doing this thing, where he'd disregard what she said or what she told him, even though she was proven to be right over and over again. What was his problem? The fact that he's a hard ass homicide cop? Even cops take intuitive leap sometimes, don't they?

His attitude probably isn't going to improve, even though the clue she gave him was right, once again. Won't even credit her with it, even to himself. (I don't expect him to run to the DA and tell him where he got the clue.)

The investigator, well, she had some sense about her and it's good that she recognized what Allison can do for her and for the work she's doing. This episode was mostly about transition. At least she refused to ignore who she was (like she'd done when she was younger, by drinking herself silly so she didn't hear or see anything) and still trying to help. Too bad that her husband and the kids had to suffer too.

Well, she's got a way of making a living now, so it should get better from here (or maybe not). I'm looking forward to where Manny is back and now he fits into all of this. If he's still gonna be DA or they just permanently replaced him.

I finally got to see National Treasure.

It's been out for a long while by this point, and I finally get the chance. It was entertaining, certainly, more sight seeing, and kinda funny at some point, but I think the whole adventure thing.. um.. could've been better. And the bad guy turned into an OK guy.. no I did not like that. He started so promising and just turned into 'that' at the end? Man.. so all the thing he did was so that his name could be in history? Seems like a lot of effort for someone that seemed to concern himself with money.

Well, at least it wasn't a bust. I would've been really disappointed otherwise.

Today is my friend's little sister's birthday. And on the 12th is another girl's birthday, and the 19th is mine. I guess I'll throw a little get together thing, mostly to eat, and I won't be the one to arrange it, my aunt will take care of all the food. :)

I still have to be the one to drive her to get them though.

What do I want for my birthday, well, no one asks me that. Probably no one will. *sigh* so I guess I'll have to get things for myself if I want anything. I don't think my poor wallet could take it though.

I better drop by to see grandma, I hadn't seen her in a really long while. She was the one who raised me when I was 2 to about 7. Saturday, I think.

I lost another fish the other day, angel fish, he got stuck underneath some rock, stupid fish. Oh well, they are so fragile anyhow.

My optical mouse is being a bi-otch it kept flicker in and out, and I never drop the thing to warrant this kind of reaction. I'm thinking of getting a new one, but then it came in a set of keyboard and mouse set (wireless desktop set by Kensington)

Mom wants a new mouse because while I have a spare mouse (they gave me one when I got the laptop) it was too small and she said it doesn't feel good in her palm. Yup, new mouse, big one...

Well, right now it is working, so... we'll see how it goes.

January 03, 2008

New Year's Eve, Pain Doctor, and the week leading up to it.

On the last week of the year, I spent it, as I always expected, in the damn mall. I had to take my aunt shopping, or rather we were getting ready for a party, actually we had it for the employees, mostly. I mean, there weren't that many people, but we always make more than enough food (too much if you ask me.)

Anyhow, so it was 7 hours for my mother and aunt to get all the presents (there are 2 sets, 1 to give to them, and the other was for the swap thing...) At least I didn't have to go with them to get those. I'd certainly hang myself in that case. That was Saturday.

And Sunday, it was me bringing them to get food supplies, 2 full carriages of stuffs, and it wasn't even done!

We couldn't get the chicken wings. I have no idea why that was the case. They ran out?? How could you possibly run out of chicken wings?

So, the next day it was me being pissed off early in the morning, I rarely get enough sleep these days, and then they had to wake me up over and over again throughout the morning. Like every f*cking hour. I kept telling them, I'll get up when I get up. Keep knocking on my door will only piss me off.

Seems that the message did not get through.

Because it happened way too often and I ended up slamming my door or window everytime to drive the point home. I do not what to be wake up before noon!

People are idiots.

Anyhow, my friend had her friends over, and well, we invited her, as always, and so by extend her friends too. I met them. And you know how people that are alike will usually hang out with people of the same personality? Well, that is the case with this friend of mine, so I can hang out with her friends, no problem. There were so much laughter it was painful!

Well, we ate, then we migrated to my friend's mom's friend's condo (confusing?) It was perfect, 10th floor, has the view of the ocean on both sides.

But we were early, so she told me to bring some game, I brought Pain Doctor (Pain Doctor : A Game of Recreational Surgery) I hadn't touched it for so long it took a game to figure out all the rules again. So we were playing, and it was like, another 5 min the fireworks gonna start and we were like.. yeah yeah, ok. I'm about to chop up this patient.

It was funny!

Then after the fireworks we were back at it!

We played 2 games, and left the condo at 2:30 am. It was fun, all things considered. I'm considering making a copy of the game, or rather the board piece. I really like the game so the last thing I want is for it to get all kinds of tears in it.

I'm gonna go through the camera to see if there's any photo that is of any use. After all, I suck at taking pictures period.

Days later, my friend still asked if we gonna play the game again. (yeah, she killed the rest of us last time, so I better get back)

Sleep deprived, exhaustion, Christmas Eve

A friend of mine came yesterday, only didn't plan to stay the night, although I think she knew she would be staying the night. I went to another friend's, supposed to be tutoring them on some writing.

Me? Teaching... right.

I did explain, as best I could about the thing, problem is, they are just not very skill at it to begin with. It's hard to explain how to write structure wise when they can't string a sentence together and have them make sense. LOL.

Well, it takes time, time I'm not sure that they have.

Well, my A/C unit had been dripping for 2 nights, and so I didn't get any sleep, and last night I was getting some anime for a friend and so it took some times, and so... as a result I went to bed around 4:30 am. and actually fell asleep around 5. And by 6 my friend was up, she had to get to the bus early.

Needless to say I'm exhausted, and the headache is growing from the size of MA, to TX now.

I got A Cry In the Dark (1988) a couple of days ago. I gotta sit down and watch it later, preferably somewhere without any interruption.

Man, I need sleep, my eyes are burning. I still have some e-mail to send out.

December 20, 2007

Dammit I forgot.

Shizuru's birthday was 2 days ago!!
DSL trouble, anime, manga

I was unable to use my DSL for 2 days, Sunday and Monday, at first I was thinking, oh well, it must be some server trouble, because it worked fine all day Saturday, and since I wasn't home all day, it didn't bother me all that much. Then when I got home on Sunday night, I was like what the hell.

But I was patient.

Very, very patient.

I waited another day, still no signal, I was seething, I mean, what the hell is going on?!

Now I was calling the guy to come take a look at the phoneline, he couldn't come on Monday, then my aunt proceeded to tell me that the guy that came in to cut the branches told her he saw this line broken but he didn't know what it was. So now it's the damn line, and I asked her why she didn't just tell me, she said she didn't know. I was like great, so when something goes wrong in the house, I'm suppose to discover this myself when I'm not even home for most of the day?!

Now I just called our mechanic and told him to get his ass over to fix the damn line, like NOW!

Well, it got done that day and now it's fine.

They just had to piss me off, don't they.

Well, then yesterday my aunt wasn't in, she went to have her check up, my mom was sick and she expected me to be at the store all day by myself. Hell, I can open by myself it's not a big deal, but I can not stay all day by myself. And I told her so, so she said well tell your day not to open then, so I did.

I get the chance to get my manga and anime because of this. I ran out with my aunt (another aunt) Got new volume of.

Erementar Gerad
Ark

Mai Otome Zwei vol 1 (2 episodes)
MAR vol. 12
Jigoku Shoujo vol. 1 (4 episodes)

2 sets of manga, my friend asked me to pick up for her.

Then when I got home (after some side track) My aunt (another one) wanted me to go look for some chairs I mean seriously, for once I just wanna stay home without anyone telling me I have to go here and there and pick up this and drop that.

And I found that now my DSL at home works, the one at the store doesn't!

What else can go wrong, I wanna know.

Package, multiply, layout...

I got my package yesterday.

YES!!!

I've been waiting, Amazon.com's ETA is Dec. 23, which I didn't think it'd be that slow, or at least I hope it won't be. :) It seems that I was right.

On this package I got

Greta Garbo's Collection : 9 DVD
Spiderman Trilogy
Ghosts of Mississippi
Indictment : The McMartin Trial
A Lick of Frost
Harloquint

I'll read the 2 books later.

Multiply :

I've had this account for a while now, I only signed up for it only because I left a message on my friend's multiply site once, and I thought what the hack. Anyhow, my friend left a message for me there to and I quote 'Decorate it, already'. So I did. It's not as customizable as say Blogger, because you still need the base theme from them and then you have to figure out what to do on your own.

I got by.

So, I made a banner for it and then a bit on the side and then figure out the color. Not as well as I would've liked but it wasn't that bad, I don't think.

So, I think she's happy now. LOL

Of course, I could just imagine her face when she saw it. She would've said, again?? DWP? AGAIN??? Well, I can't help it, Meryl in that suit is just... grrrrrrr...

Crisp white shirt and black suit... *zizzle*

Ok, it's bad enough that I lust after a character... *sigh* I better stop talking now.

LOL

Movie, Meeting, Fic-rec, Collages

Friday night I finally went to see The Golden Compass.

I liked it, a lot, and I liked Nicold Kidman in it too. Don't ask me why.

Some of the dialog felt a little strange, but then I'll have to go read the book first. I think I'll pick that set up. :) Second hand books, mind you, if I can find them. I think I can, but if not, then I'll get the new ones. It's not a bad thing to have more books. Better than if I go out and get drunk on Saturday night.

Besides, it doesn't hurt anything to read more, to know more.

Gotta occupy our minds somehow, right.

Oh how I wish my Saturday is my free day.

I mean, I always got asked what I do on my day off. I'd say what day off? The store's close, yes, but it isn't my day off. I might be able to get up late, but I still have to drive people all over the place. And those places aren't where I wanna go.

Saturday night I went to meet with a friend of mine at a small restaurant, it was like 8pm. already. Anyways, her friends came over and we all chatted and stuff. It was fun. Too bad I couldn't go with them on Sunday. I did ask my mom, she said no... and then when I show up for work, she said, I thought you went.

I hate when she does that.

It pisses me off.

But anyhow, I met Cindy for the first time. :) It was cool.

I thought she'd be taller? I don't know. LOL. Actually, I don't really have any preconception of people I chat with online or e-mail with. I tried not to.

We chatted, and I'm glad I got the time to meet her. Too bad we didn't have that much time. I'm so busy these days, it's disgusting.

I'm still waiting for my package. *sigh* I think I'll probably get it next week. *grrr*

Fic-rec.

The Devil Wears Prada
The Lily and the Crown by Telanu It's a six part A/U story.

Actually I would recommend all her DWP stories.

Collages.

It's been a while that I do any at all, I'm gonna start now.

And this is my first in a long time. And this is my second one.

December 05, 2007

It's Father's Day today.

And I saw my father for... perhaps, 30 seconds.

Well, I got him a set of bed sheets in cream color soft cotton (the t-shirt kind of cotton) I used to have Hanes one, in white, but they don't fit my bed anymore. Too bad that's it's only the limited edition thing, and they didn't have them in Queen size.. so I only got a set for my dad. He seems to like it, so it's all good. I would've just gotten one set for me, even though they are in King's but they only have the fitted sheets with 2 pillowcases, not flat, so I didn't. (my dad doesn't use the flat so it didn't matter to him)

Oh well.

Anyhow, we went for seafood yesterday, me, my friend, her sister, her sister's friend and the kid frrom her office (just one.. I think I can call her our friend now) Her dad drove and her mom went with us. Her mom was just hilarious, I mean she wanted to go to this restaurant that was closer (she was fighting a battle that's she's already lost, I don't even know why she tried) It was funny.

Food was fresh, still swimming kinda fresh. We had about 4kg for shrimps, some clams a big fish, soft shell crab. Her dad paid for it. We gotta take him out some times. He was paying last time too.. I'm starting to feel bad.

I'm planning on seeing The Golden Compass tonight, I don't care what they said, I mean, to believe in something, or not is my choice, to begin with, and none of other people's business. Those arrogant idiots that think they knew what best for other people.

I'm still working off that cold, couldn't quite shake it off, which is annoying. Can't seem to go anywhere these days, without feeling that headache just the back of my eyes. Grrr..

Oh well, I'm hoping it'll go away by the end of this week.

My package isn't here yet. Man I'm hoping it'll be here this week, probably not, maybe next week.

November 26, 2007

My mother's purchases today.

My mom always like handmade things (so do I, for that matter) More respect for those that made these things for living, it's not easy and people don't always wanna pay the price of the labor. Sometime it's the value of it and not the value of materials that add up to the price.

I can never do these things for living, I spend far too much money on things. :) I do make paper (recycle, since we got cards and such that got cut up, and will get burn otherwise, a waste if you ask me) and I use those paper to make a book, which I usually just give them to my friends. If they want it that is.

Well, my mother got these today... they made from dried palm leaves, the guy was awesome, my mom bought from him twice.. they are less than a dollar each (US dollar) the legs are made from aluminum can, he told my mom that he sold them to the other place more expensive because the woman didn't seem to care for them (why did she buy them is beyond me) consider the fact that it's all made by hand, so kudos for the guy.

I would post more pix, but maybe later.

And I got the r/c illu that my friend asked me to do as a favor done, it's not that big only 24"x24" much smaller than the other ones I've been making, especially as a portraits. I made them with black matt sticker on white future board (that's what they called it) looks nice if you hold it up to the light, but well, these will be on wall. I probably won't touch it anymore, done is done.

Off to do something else now.

November 23, 2007

Criminal Minds last night ...

Wow, talk about subtext.

Well, you know we do look for it everywhere and quite happy when we found them. :)

That scene with JJ and Prentiss, when Emily reached over and squeezed her hand... and the looks, oh yeah... I'm pleased, really I am. There seems to be more looks pass between them lately, or maybe it's just me and my wishful thinking.

Either way, the more the better, 'cause they definitely fuel some of the fanfic writers with material to work with. Heck knows we have to look for them, I mean, really really look for them.
Well, I'm working on Mirandy fic at the moment, and Shiznat too. Also coding the site, they are all going slowly. I still got menu to finish. I guess I'll get to do them tomorrow, since it'll be quite impossible to get out anyway, all the traffic, I really don't like festival. People flocked in and the congestion, more people means more cars on the road too. Oh well.

I have no plan to go anywhere tomorrow, I'll be happily staying in. I just asked a friend if she had any plan, and she said no, but I know her, there'll be some friends of hers to drag her out the last minute. LOL.

My other friend still unable to come over, I'm holding the r/c illu she asked me to do hostage, I'm not mailing that thing, not after I made it for her. The least she could do is picking it up personally.

It's Friday night and I think I'll get to bed a little earlier than I usually do on Friday (which mean before 4 a.m.) Though I doubt I'll be sleeping. NCIS is looking pretty good right about now.

November 20, 2007

I went and pick up a few things today.

I got last volume of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles (with the box and Mokona). Volume 13 of Eureka 7, vol. 11-12 of MAR.

Got vol. of new Wada Shinji's new series (it's 2006, it's newer than the other ones!) It's Kugutsushi Rin, it's about puppets and puppet masters.

Main character Kasuma Rin, whom the heir to the family of puppet master ran away from school in Germany, (which she'd run away from home to get to in the first place) Her older sister which was made heir in her place and her grandfather died in the mysterious fire.

Once back, Rin found that everything was burned down except the secret storage underground. Everything was in place except 3 puppets. Rin came to a conclusion immediately and knew that instant who was the culprit.

A violinist Asaoka Miyabi.

So, the battle started, the weapon : puppets, which Miyabi stole from Rin's grandfather and had some other puppet maker finished (the puppet were only core), there were 10 altogether, and Miyabi aimed to have all 10 for the reason we are not privy to just yet.

I'm liking the beginning, so I'm hoping the the next part won't take too long to come out. Wish I could get that old series of his, Sukeban Deka, my friend did have the entire series a long time ago, unfortunately I couldn't get my hands on it, since she lost it. And so, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they would reprint it again. Just as several other stories that I couldn't find (too old).

Hopefully, someday.

Now I'm waiting for the bookcases... won't be long now..

I still can't really do the whole unclutter thing.

1. for every 1 piece of thing you bring in, you have to get rid of 2 things.
2. the things that you don't use or even touch for over a year then you should get rid of it.

Now, if I only stick to those 2 then I'll be in good shape, of course, it's easier said than done. Though it's not that bad because I organize it. And I throw out the boxes. Which I usually keep for 2-3 months after I bought things. (in case.)

November 19, 2007

Went to another wedding on Saturday.

I wasn't gonna go, since I was tired, and I didn't get any sleep the night before, but well, a friend called me up an hour before the wedding was suppose to start, so I had to go. Honestly, I wasn't that close to the friend that was married. (as much as she liked to think otherwise) There wasn't even enough table. It was annoying.

The other friends were going some place after, I just didn't have the energy and besides, the place they went, just not my thing. She asked why... I told her to consider several things, first my type of music, I don't dance, and I don't drink. Doesn't work very well, in a club setting.

I'm working on a new layout for the homepage, the layout was simple, extremely so, so now I'm just doing the whole html and writing the body of the pages. Should be done in a couple of days.

I'm trying to write too... just kinda too tired to concentrate lately. I'm gonna try my hand at that prompt on LJ though, it's Mirandy so it should be fun (even if I will agonize over it).

And there's still Shiznat to finish.. :) Oh joy.

November 14, 2007

I got a boxset last night, a Harry Potter boxset.

I wanted to order it, but I didn't I was waiting to see if I can get it here, and apparently I can, so I picked it up last night. I even dragged my mother with me, I don't think she realized how much it costs, but she had some idea of how much it probably would.

To give her credit, she said nothing of it.

Of course I didn't bring the car, I took the motorcycle, so she had to hold it while I rode back. It's rather heavy, well, with 7 books, hardcover, of course it's heavy. I liked it. A lot. Because I never did get the chance to get all of them in Hardcover, I only have the last 4 in hardcover.

So, here's what it looks like. :) The box looks pretty sturdy, although I'm not too fond of the robe on the side, they should've just made it into a catch or handle or something that's not a robe, a couple of pieces of hardware (like brass handle, or even plastic that made to look like one) would look much better. Oh well. I got it at 15% off. So, it wasn't that bad.

Now I'm gonna have to find a place to put it. I'm waiting for 4 boxcases to be finished and deliver at the house. I ordered them, so that they are in the dimension that I wanted, which is enough to put manga in or paperback novels without any wasted space. And glass doors, too, so I don't have to worry about kids getting their hands on them. Then I can transfer all the manga in my bedroom out to the cases and so I have more space.

I got Adaptation last night, still didn't get to watch it yet. But I will. Again Meryl Streep kick... *sigh* I'm planning on ordering Greta Garbo collection, I really liked Ninotchka. She was once voted by the Guinness Book of World Record as the most beautiful woman who ever lived. Anyhow, there's a boxset on Amazon.com so I might get that, otherwise I might just get Ninotchka.

While I'm at it, maybe Marlene Dietrich's movie, too.

Nah....

November 09, 2007

Finally the internet works!!

The DSL line at the store was out of commission for almost a week, I nearly pull my hair out! The reason being that I forgot to pay the bill last month. (I sometimes lost track of bills.) Well, I had my cousin went and paid the thing, which they should've turned it back on for me, which they said they did, but 3 days later I still could not use it. So I had to called over and over again, until the day before yesterday, they called me up and said that it should work now.

And Voila! It did.

So, now I can entertain myself while minding the store.

On the papercraft note, I decided to make another cryptex, this time it should be neater and cleaner, I'm more careful and also I got one of those circle cutter from Olfa my favorite is the SVR-1 I have 4 of them and a spare of A. They are reliable blades, I love them, and while I'd have to go through a pack of spare blade to finish a job, I would use less than half of that amount with Olfa, they are quite sharp (as my finger could attested to that). I swear by them.

Being the freak that I am, I always have packs and packs of spare blade around.

You never know when you're going to need them. :)

Well, I did the apple off of the same site as the Cryptex one. Still it's not that complicate, and looks quite pretty. :)

Now I better go make a phone call. I still have another 5 squares to cut as well, which I forgot to bring. grrrrrrrrr...

October 29, 2007

I've decided that I'm going to make the Dragon from The Tale of Earthsea over again.

Since the page I got it from scanned the template from the book, I wasn't sure of the sizes, and if they are all in the correct proportion, because my first one I ran into that problem, the scale won't fit over the tale, so if they don't fit the tail, then the rest won't make any different, so I'm making it over again, and this time I'll fit it first before I glue it in.

So, tonight I'm gonna do the menu, as much as I could and then I'll start with the r/c illu of my friend's, but I'll have to get a hold of her first, cause I'm not sure of the size. Otherwise I would've started it awhile back.

Then after that, I'll go back to the dragon.

Quote I really liked today :

'Fairy tales do not tell children that dragons exist. Children already know that the dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children that dragons can be killed.' G.K. Chesterton

October 28, 2007

Wedding was yesterday.

My friend's wedding was yesterday, and well, I was the driver. Man, it's like going to the middle of nowhere. The drive was long and none of us really knows the way, so that just made it worse. Other than the really, really, really long drive.

We got lost, and also the wrong turns, we missed one turn, and then we turned at the wrong left, before we got to the place.

It was not my fault!!

I was just a driver.

The backseat drivers should be smacked for those turn, I was trying to watch the road, they were suppose to tell me which turn. And more often than not they told me too late.

Once we got there, the foods were slow in coming and then we left at the end, and then I was till the driver, but this time we went through town, they should've just letting me go that way in the first place, since it was nothing but straight drive (not that I am). We got home about 11:30pm.

My right leg was killing me afterwards, I hate driving long distances. It's not fun. Especially when you don't know where the hell you were going.

On a more uplifting note, Women's Murder Club...

Lindsay said to Cindy, if we are going to be in a relationship then there are ground rules. (relationship!??) Man, more and more subtext slipping through those lips of hers every episode. Grrrrrrrrr..

Makes me happy though.

October 25, 2007

Done with Cryptex.

I found a site (through another site) it's a papercraft site with a Cryptex!

It was awesome, I mean, to design that and it actually make sense and work (with a set password and stuff) Took me about a week, because I started with the key (that's what the guy called it, it's the piece that has the top and the core) one night and then the next night I did the second key (a piece with the bottom which has the 'lock') then I had to make 5 dials. So, I did that one per night. Because my neck was killing me and I think I can cut a relatively round circle with an X-acto knife and freehand now.

And well, here is my piece. I'm quite proud of it. Now if only I could finish that damn dragon!

Speaking of dragon, I'm still looking for a suitable one so I can cut onto a vinyl sticker and put on my laptop as a decor. :) I think that picture from the book Dragonhenge will make a good starting point, but well, I still have other things to do before that.

And a menu too.

Today I bought a new journal, it is pretty good with leather cover and very nice and thick handmade paper. I'm happy with it, finally, I rarely find a good one that I like, so this is good. I mean I can draw on this, pencil, pen and ink, watercolor. Not that I would do watercolor, I'm just too lazy to clean up afterward, so it's either pen and ink or most likely pencil. I think the reason I never pick up watercolor or oil or acrylic painting because of that, the fact that I will have to clean up. Just not very appealing to me. That and I never get a proper introduction to them. Oh well, someday, when I have more time, I guess, as of now I'll stick to what I know, mostly.

Cin!! Well, I have to see if there's anything going on in Dec, what's the date of the competition?
Maybe I can take a drive out, but I won't know for sure.
My friend's wedding is on Saturday.

We went for seafood on Tuesday, my friend's dad was driving, and her mother went too, his truck was a half-cap, so there were her parents, 2, my friend and her sister, 2, me, a kid from the office and her sister's friend, there were 7 in total, at first my friend sat in the back, and then well, it rain!

So, she moved inside and the poor kid had to sit by himself in the back, good thing it didn't rain for long, or hard. So, we got there, the four of use stuffed into the back like a tuna in a can. LOL.

When we got there, we ate, and ate... and well.. ate.

Shrimp, mostly, shrimp 3kg. of it.

Soft-shell crabs, clams, squids. So fresh they were still swimming when we picked them out.

It was great!! With our hands, no spoon, or fork!

So, on the way back, all 5 of us were sitting in the truck bed. LOL... It was an hour ride (more or less) by the time we got back, my face was numb from the wide and hair. It was fun, though. She said we'll do it again in, maybe, two months. :)

I hope another friend could join us, actually, if she came with us, we would've brought another car. Which would be mine.

Well, I'll be driving on Saturday, anyhow, hopefully we won't get lost.

They are mostly all married now, what am I gonna do?!?!

Well, good for them, and good for me!

LOL.

I do not wanna get married, the thought of having to share everything with someone irks me. I cannot, as I've found, be reasonable with my space. I can't even imagine sharing a computer. LOL..

I'm just that bad.

October 21, 2007

I was watching the new ep of Women's Murder Club.

Man, I smell fanfiction potential. LOL.

I had to listen twice, the scene when Cindy told Lindsay that she would miss her if she (Cindy) wasn't around (and I thought there was a little pout too!) And then Lindsay replied, give me a chance to find out.

Also another one was when Cindy said that she's a report and a cop has to answer to the public, before Lindsay gave her a little info, then she said that if she sees the info she gave her in the papers then she (Cindy) gonna have to answer to her, which is so much worst than the public. (ummmmmm.... I can see some kinky story for this one)
Man, her voice!

LOL.

I found a site (Glue2 Chronicle) that has Cryptex papermodel last night. I was making it, well, not done yet, since I have to be more careful about it, I did the first and second key and I have to do the dial (there're 5 of them)

Maybe it'll come out ok, I don't know.

I've been doing a lot of papermodel lately, I just feel like doing something with my hands. I'm gonna have to do R/C illustration for a friend of mine, probably start tonight, I think it'll be 24"x24" it's probably gonna take about 9 pieces, (or maybe I'll make 'em in smaller square, then it'll double the amount and so, it'll be fun (for me to watch) for them to figure it out. :) Because some of them won't have more than a few black lines.

I'm gonna do a new layout for the blog too, I have AJ Cook, and it's half way done already. I'm thinking about background, I think I'm gonna keep it simple.

Well, so far my Olympus FE-280 works great! I took picture in the dark (the only light in the room was a lamp on my desk) and I could barely see my dog and the pic came out really good. No blur, and I can see the details clearly.

After I bought the camera, I went to Amazon.com and look up the review. I actually didn't mean to, really, since I bought it already and it doesn't really help anything since I can't return it. But the first review was pretty bad, the guy said that it doesn't work the way it was advertised, that the point and shoot doesn't shoot and he took the photo at the party, nothing came out clear. Took forever for it to take the photo even though the flash went off several seconds before. He said he's gonna return it and get a new Sony instead.

Make me feel bad, damn it.

I've always liked Olympus, my previous cameras were Olympus, so, this made me regret getting it, a little. But then I compared that to my own experience, and found that it wasn't like the guy's review, the cam took less than 2 seconds to turn on completely. (I cound 1-2 and the LCD came on and the cam was ready) All the photo I took came out good, no blur at all, even though I was taking a photo of my little nephew.

And you know how babies are, they never stay still for a second.

I took pictures of my dogs and they came out good. Just point'n shoot.

Then I found a second review that agreed with me, afterward. :)

So far I liked it, a lot. So, in the end, I guess that is all that matters.

I got some pictures of my newly arrived order.

1. Season 1&2 of Supernatural
2. Season 2 of Criminal Minds
3. Music of the Heart
4. ... First Do No Harm
5. Fist Wives Club

I'll get them here later.

October 16, 2007

New show to follow.

I sorta stumbled upon a new drama 'Women's Murder Club' it's really an accident, because I wouldn't have watch it otherwise. And surprise, surprise! Angie Harmon. I was kind of glad that I watched, :) and she played a cop!! I liked her in Law and Order, but I think I'll like her as a cop more. So far so good. (well, it's been only 1 ep) And it has serial killer, so it's even better, I like on going story line as well as the end in 1 ep ones. :) Something to look forward to.

Like I don't have enough to watch already. I finally finished with the Nodame Cantabile Live Action, my friend should be picking it up soon, and as for watching, I'm not sure if I will have the chance.

Lately, my mother's been monopolizing my Iomega Screenplay during the night, she's been watching A Haunting on it. I did want to order it for her, but apparently the DVD was not well made at all, the narration wasn't there. In my opinion the narration makes all the different. Without it, it wouldn't be as good.

I've been reading a lot of The Devil Wears Prada fanfiction a lot. And well, I think I have Mirandy on the brain!

I'm trying to write more though, I'm thinking that if I at least keep a notebook near me I will probably be more productive. Well, the D.I.Y Planner is a good place for looking for DIY planner, found a few templates that would work well, but I also have lots of notebooks around anyway, so, I probably will try both ways and see how it goes.

October 13, 2007

My new toy tonight...

I needed a new camera, well, I lost mine for years now and I've been using my mother's little Nikon, which for some reason doesn't work anymore. I don't think I dropped it (or I would've remembered) but I can't really be sure since my backpack wasn't in my possession several times last week. (my mother was holding it for me, and well, if she tossed it on the floor, I wouldn't have known that)

So I finally decided that I'd get one for me... I saw a commercial for Panasonic Lumix on TV several times and I thought, cool! It looked nice on TV, but when I saw the actually camera I didn't feel that 'thing' that make me wanna buy it. I don't know. It just didn't do it for me. Then I saw the Olympus one. I liked Olympus and it looked pretty good and pretty small, enough to tug into smaller pocket of my backpack and not being a bother. And so I decided to get it.. it cost me about $233. I figure, whether I buy it now or a week after, it'll still cost me, so despite the fact that I just ordered several things from amazon.com I just put it on the card.

I didn't get the pic of the actual camera because of the obvious reason. :)

I ordered several things this month (I hadn't ordered anything in several months now, to minimize the shipping, I would keep a list and put them in one order) This time I got...

1. Supernatural season 1&2
2. Criminal Minds season 2
3. Music of the Heart (because it's Meryl Streep and I'm on Meryl Streep kick right now)
4. ... First Do No Harm (and Meryl Streep)
5. The Fist Wives Club (because I wanna see Bette Midler)
6. The Harlequin Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series #15

The package should get here by next week (the estimate was between the Oct 25 and Nov 5) Well, I don't know, I hope it gets here soon. I can't wait to see the package and stuff for the series, and the new Anita Blake book (although it reads more and more like soft porn these days) I don't know, I'm just one of those that if I get them in series then I'll keep buying, even when I lost interest sometimes.

I'm also dabbing into some Papercraft lately. I'm making the Dragon from The Tale of Earthsea right now.. I got it from .. Tehanu's Flight and I'm taking my time with it, slow build seems to be the best way to go about this, since I tend to hurry things up for now reason other than I want it to be done. But if I do that then it won't work. I really wanna finish this.

Desperation

I just got a hold of Stephen King's Desperation, still watching it at the store... I'm not sure that's gonna fly. Seeing how I get interrupted every 2 minutes. Well, we'll see if I can watch it I guess. A good thing is it has Annabeth Gish, I liked her a lot from The X-Files. Don't know why, I just do. :)

Also watched Criminal Minds season 3 episode 2.

I do hope that Hotchner stayed, because I could just see how it would suffer (the team) if he's gone too, since Gideon is gone now. (hopefully he'll be back) and I like Prentiss, better than Elle, I think Elle was too cocky, and a bit self-centered for my liking. Just one of those things. The episode was good, see how the team would work (or really, wouldn't) when it got separated, and the section chief wasn't so great now that she got to see everything first hand. (big shock there... really)

Is there trouble in paradise for Hotch, who's that calling and hanging up when he answered the phone... um.. Well, I do like the show a lot, so this is fun for me.

I got all ep of Nanoha strikerS and I still don't get the chance to see them yet. I'm looking forward to seeing Stardust though. Tomorrow, I'm going with a friend. Well, it's not set in stone yet, but we'll see.

I have an idea for a little laptop decor. A little dragon. We'll see if it'll materialize. (huh!) Right now I'm once again looking at home Wireless Networking.

October 02, 2007

My friends and I are planning on making some brownies today.

Well, not really from scratch, because, you know, we can't possibly pull that one off!!

Went to see Resident Evil : Extinction.

I liked it, and the fact that there are hundreds of Alice clones!

Harem!! *cough*

I enjoyed the fighting sequence too, although this had the feel of a filling before another part, but still, not a bad bridge. I can't wait to see the army of Alice's storming the HQ of Umbrella Corps. Sounds like fun!! And lots of explosion too!

Before I went and saw the movie, I came across a toy store... yeah, I know.. it's like a dead trap for me. So, I spent most of my money on a 1/6 model of Shimuca (or rather Simca like on the side of the box) from Airgear. It was beautiful, I just couldn't help myself.

I also wanted to get Saber, but they didn't have the one in goth loli with sword, instead they have the Saber from Fate/Hollow Ataraxia holding a bag of hamburger. Cute, but not yet. :)

Next I'm getting Ringo!!

Series premiere

In the past couple of days, I had the pleasure of watching 3 spanking new episodes of my favorite shows. Bones, Shark, and Criminal Minds. Of course I've been rather preoccupied that I didn't really have the attention required to watch them. But so far they were all good.

Also I finally got the rest of the episodes of Close to Home (starring Jennifer Finnigan) So, I have plenty to watch for the next day or two, but at the same time, I'm suppose to be translating something as a favor to my PT.

And I have a book I wanna finish.

FUN!

Well, I'm reading The Devil Wears Prada and so far I think that Andrea in the book was rather disgusting and Miranda was well, not as likable as in the movie, but I don't think she was any more of a bitch than in the movie (kudos to Meryl Streep, she was excellent!) Good thing they cleaned up Andy in the movie, or I would hate her soon as I saw her open her mouth.

In the book she was not very sympathetic in her behavior. I couldn't feel bad for her, not even once.

Well, I still have a little over 100 pages to go, it might get better. Or rather her personality might get better.

Or not.

September 26, 2007

Surprise, surprise!!

Yesterday I got a couple of calls that I never thought I would ever going to get, and no, it was not a good thing.

One of them was my cousin, which I grew up with but didn't see for over ten years already. And he called me to borrow some money. All I can say is HELL NO!

I don't have the money to be throwing around, especially with someone I know I won't get any of it back, so no way in hell. I'm not that much of a masochist. I have my limit.

And then another call, from LCF, man, my gut is wicked nervous right then, and not in a good way. I didn't think of her for so long and I didn't expect to ever hear from her ever again. (and I thought that if I ever did it would be too soon, apparently, I shouldn't have thought that) It's been over 2 years, though I did have a feeling that I would be hearing from her.

Anyhow, moving on.

I went to see 1408 last night, it was good, I enjoyed it a lot. Very character driven, and it was like watching someone that's about to lose their mind and entering into the realm of insanity. Like watching people going slowly insane, it was good. :) There were a few moments here and there that gave me a scare, and that's saying a lot! I don't usually jump from seeing something popped up in a movie. But this movie made me jump a couple of times.

I did question my own sanity for going to a horror movie at 0:40am. And now I'm suffering for it, since I went to bed at 4:30am and then woke up at 7am went back to bed 8am and woke up again at 9:30am. I so hate my life right now.

Speaking of movie, I'm very much looking forward to Resident Evil : Extinction. I think Sat night will be a good night for it, :)

On the other note, I dropped by the bookstore and bought me a copy of The Devil Wears Prada last night, it's a good thing that the place close at 11pm, since I got out of the gym around 10:45pm. So far I enjoy the book.

I originally gonna put small piece of Shiznat did with the same technique, but then a pig center piece wouldn't hurt, and a variety was a good thing too, so it's Shiznat from Mai Otome and SMG, I think I'm gonna have to dig up the Eliza Dushku one out and also the Hellsing one.. somehow I don't think I have enough space for that now.

I guess it's the smaller ones from now on.. (or medium size, nothing too big)

I'm watching The Devil Wears Prada. I really like Meryl Streep from this movie, so I'm thinking I might get a book. :)

Watching : ST : Voyager

I finally got the rubber cover grill thing (the kind they use to hang stuff in stores) And I had to cut it up to size (I thought they would have more sizes, but apparently they did not) My hands hurt from it, but it got it cut and I put the bricks and cords from both the HDD external on it and tied it up with zipties, just so I can get them off of the floor (easier to clean up) and I really don't want a nest of wire to clutter up around the HDD external (the drives were hot enough without anything around) it improves the air circulation immensely, which is what I wanted.

And after that I still got a piece big enough, so I brought it to the store. Originally, I had the DSL modem and the excess wires and cords in the drawer, which of course, doesn't have any air circulation at all. I couldn't leave the drawer open or someone will definitely trip on it. Not a very good thing, seeing how it'll probably be my mother.

So, I tied up the cords and modem onto the grill and then the power strip, and the LAN line, as well as the excess phoneline. All of them quite long, but it's better now and the modem won't get too hot anymore. I put up a 3M hook to hold the grill upright, it was a small hook, but since it doesn't have to hold up any weight, but simply hold it in place, I'm not really worry. The mess looks much, much better now, I think.

Now I'm thinking I should get one of those twist tie thing. Tomorrow I think.

September 15, 2007

I went to an Aikido class today. Actually, it was on a trial basis at the gym that I am a member (Sports Club) The membership of which I am about to run out. LOL. I'll continue, I'm pretty sure now, and the other one I'll just give it to my sister. The transfer wasn't complicated so, it should be fine.

I liked the class, a lot, I mean I've always wanted to try Aikido, and this was pretty cool. And I miss the physicality of it, after not practicing Karate for 3 years, I miss it a lot. This will be good, I'm not sure how it's gonna go, because the trail period end in Oct, so, hopefully they continue, I'll even pay extra for it, it'll be really good too... Any self-defense classes are good, I think, for just about everything, it helps with the stress, a lot, as I've learned that first hand. :)

I'm watching Close to Home season 1, I kinda like it and I think Jennifer Finnigan is cute as a button (well, she got that, blonde blue eyed, so...)

I got a new HDD external drive which is 250 GB. So, I'll keep some of my anime on it, those that I keep till the dvd's out. (if they ever gonna be released here.) Just stuffs that are pretty much filled up my hard drive.

They have 3 colors, and I picked the blue one, pretty color and I really like the blue light too! I got it a week or so ago, and I simply didn't have the energy to get to the back of my cpu to plug it in, and I finally get to tonight.

One of the receptionists was in the accident this morning, apparently she did not show up (which I had no idea since I was dragged out of bed to drive my mother to see the doctor) And they had been trying to get a hold of her and couldn't. I was saying that something must've happened, because she doesn't just miss work, not without a good reason. And Voila! we got a call from her sister that she's in the hospital. I guess tomorrow I'll be driving my aunt and my mom to see her.

Mom picked up a bunch of orchids and plants today, my aunt got fishes, me... I get to drive all day! Not fun, let me tell you, not fun at all.

September 09, 2007

We had a house warming of sort yesterday.

It was more of a religious thing anyway, took so much time and energy to prepare and it was all over by 1pm. My mother and my aunt spent all last week preparing for it, cooking, cleaning (mostly it's dessert they were making, but you know how much time those take!?) So, it's me being chained to the store (technically speaking) for the entire day. Most of the relatives were there yesterday and some of my parents acquaintances and family friends. I spent the entire time sitting outside with my cousins, chatting.

Afterwards we ran over to the computer store with one of my cousins, she wanted Nintendo DS. But at the moment she's saving up for it, so in the mean time she wanted to check out the price and also get a game. She borrowed mine for now. I haven't been playing with it for a long while now so, I have no idea what's going on with DS these days.

I better looking around, I guess.

We also went to the shooting range, well, with my other cousin that is. we shot about
2 boxes of ammo (that's 100 bullets), we got .22 and .38 the .22 was a bit heavy, surprisingly. It was fun though. We'll do it again soon, or so I hope. They also have horse back riding and base jumping and clay shooting too. Maybe we'll try one of those next time. Though I still want my archery set.

It looks ok, I think. There'll be another piece to add at the bottom, and after that I might leave it alone for maybe a month or two, cause I kinda wanna put Integra Hellsing on this. :)

My friend asked if I can do one for her, well, I could. When she show up that is. LOL.

Then another one of my friend would've argue that I could get it cut by machine and it'll look better. I guess I could, but what's the fun in that?!

Tonight, another piece.

What I have is Accer Aspire 4710G, which has textured finished, The top has that polished reflective strip of black, so I figure I could do something. I bought several sheets of vinyl stickers in black, as well as clear contact paper in rolls! My first thought was using the clear contact paper, however, it doesn't work very well, when the surface is already textured, (if it's the glossy finished then the clear contact paper would've worked very well.) So, I moved on and tried the black stickers instead. Before I did all this, I took a small piece of each ones and stuck it on the laptop then pulled out to see if it'll leave the glue residue on it, which none of them did. (if there's residue I might not do it at all)

Then I picked the glossy back vinyl and cut out the image by hand (with my trusty x-acto.) Then I transfered it with masking tape, almost lose small pieces several times, but well, I tried to slow down and not just ripping the tape out (or I might have to start over)

This is only the first stage, I'm adding a few more things and I might try the textured sticker one, to see if it'll give me the impression dimension. And I think I might add 'cogito ergo sum' (I think therefore I am), or maybe something else, I'm thinking... but everything can be changed so it's not a big deal, only a bit of time that will be lost.

I did this at about 1:30 in the morning, cut and clean and stuck on the laptop itself, well, I ended up going to bed around 4am.

If I just go ahead and cut without stopping to read this and that and watch 'How Clean Is Your House?' I probably finished it quicker, but who's checking? LOL.

September 02, 2007

Continue from last night :

Ok, so I found this store iStudio, they sell Mac accessories and other things, so I got Solar Charger there (and I already knew the moment I saw it that this's going to be my favorite store!)

They also have that laptop stand and such, a bunch of comp accessories and so... I'm in love with it

I did buy a bugweed pillow as well, expensive, but well, it was rather worth it. Only a night and I felt the difference, I didn't wake up with a kink in my neck this morning and I slept through the night. (except when Gizmo barked to get some water). I'd get one for mom, but she's just the type to not use it. She's just that stubborn about things. And if she won't use it, then well, as expensive as it is if she doesn't use it then it is really expensive, if she uses it, then it is worth the money.

I'm still contemplating the wireless networking, even if just so I can play psp online... or maybe not, so far I don't see the point just yet.

I watched The Bridge to Terabethia today. I liked it. With the cover you might expect another Nania, but this isn't. It's about 2 kids, outcast, one because she was a new girl and have rather strange look at things, and the other was poor, they paired up and created a world of their own. I think my niece liked it. But she fell asleep. LOL.

September 01, 2007

Today was my day off, actually I should say that it's the day that the store closes, however, I don't actually get it off, the only difference is, I get to sleep late, but that's about it. So, I had to take my aunt shopping (getting things for my house, and such, still I'm a driver) And it usually before I get my breakfast/lunch.

Anyhow, I decided to go to the movie, 'cause I want to. Went to see 'Invasion' stared Nicole Kidman. It was good, I was kinda surprise, well, a little. It started like typical Alien invasion movie, (something like Puppetmaster came to mind) There's a sense of urgency throughout the movie, which I liked, a lot. Kept me on the edge of my seat and I didn't get bored, although there were times that the movie was a bit confusing, but I do think that it fitted the state of mind that the main character was in.

Nicole Kidman looked pretty good in it, too. So, it's a plus. I like her in these kind of role, her desperation and exhaustion was palpable (well, makeup does help, with those red rimmed eyes, tousled hair) The way her face barely contain the feeling when the character had to be out among the Alien.

The transformation from human to alien during REM sleep was not overdone. I've seen a lot of movies that just pushed the gore just a bit too much. This one was on the minimal side. Though there was this one scene when the Press conference was going on and the waiters at the back were basically barfing into the water, YUCK!! And I was eating, too.

The movie was shorter than I'd expected it. A little under 2 hours (maybe I watched those movies too much, the ones that were just won't work under 2 hours, always 2 and a half or more) And with a happy ending. LOL. I half expected to see her turned and all hope lost at the end, even though I knew it wasn't going to be that way. And it wasn't, everything got saved in the nick of time.

When the movie was over it was before 11pm. So it was pretty good, since it wasn't too late and meant that I will get to bed before 3am. I've learned that the later I get home is the even later I'd go to bed. I once got home at 4:30am. from my friend's house, we were talking and just completely forgot the time, anyhow, I got home and still I got cleaned up and other things, I ended up really going to be after 5am. Me and my bad habit, I guess.

I also found a store which, I think I'd become a regular. LOL. I do love toys. I was thinking of getting something to raise up the bottom of my laptop and I found these little things they sold there, perfect, really perfect. Well, that's a story for tomorrow. :)

I'm gonna go watch Mai Otome (again) now.

There's my DCSoesCo. backpack, Staedtler triplus fineliner in sets of 10 colors, my Ipaq phone, Olfa silver exacto knife, pocket watch, ipod nano, my Oakley whisker, iomega screenplay, 3 sets of keys, a dvd case that carry one dvd or another, my notebook with black staedtler tucked in the spiral for writing fanfic and whatnot, my Nikon digital cam that really belonged to my mother, but she doesn't use it, so I do.

They don't weight very much altogether, really. And I travel to work by motorcycle, so to have these on me, weren't that much of an ordeal.

I would be carrying my laptop too, except I left that at the store, so I don't have to carry it back and fort everyday.

Oh yeah, and I also take my dog everyday, he sits in the front basket. (and no he doesn't try to jump.)

I took the pic because, um.. I don't know, too many visits to lifehacker I guess, so I wanna see what clutter do I carry around with me. (and something to blog about, in case Jamie is reading..LOL)

Well, I went and pick up a soft bag for my laptop yesterday and saw a laptop backpack that I wanted, it has lots of pocket and looking pretty good too!

On the other note, I'm about to start watching Nodame Cantabile, my friend recommended it (her friend recommended it to her) The anime is 23 ep long I believe, and the Live-action is 11 ep. I still have lots ot catch up though. I should really start with watching all my Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles first.

Claymore manga still isn't out yet, I got it up to vol 11. The characters are pretty nice looking and the story line reminded me of Berserk. Let's hope it doesn't drag out as long as Berserk though, it gets tiring now. It could've end nicely about half way back. There're a few manga that are like that. (ex. Dragonball, even St. Seiya)

I watched first ep. of Zombie Loan the other day, it's by Peach Pit, the same that gave us Rozen Maiden (and I really like that series) so I'm gonna continue watching this one too.

I'm waiting with my batted breath for Mai Otome Zwei 4, it should be out on the 24th and so since I can't understand Japanese I'm waiting for Fansub to come out. Now, my friend's friend is coming back from Japan in a couple of months, I think I'm gonna ask her to ask him to get all 4 for me. Maybe, if it's not too much trouble that is, since he's not my friend. Maybe I'll just order Amazon Japan. Man, so many things to get. And I need a set of pen nibs too. I lost the entire set a while back. (damnit!)

I'm broke.

August 28, 2007

My aunt got the TV for now.

I was trying to watch The Dead Zone, but well, didn't work out very well, since I was trying to change the water in my fishtank at the same time. What I got in my fishtank, let's see... I got 2 gold fishes (5 color ones) 1 angel fish, 3 little ones (not sure what they are called) All in all, I got 6 fishes. In Chinese numerology 6 means easy and smooth, all the way) Although I thought of getting 8 which means prosperity, the tank was rather small, so I don't wanna stuff another 2 in.

I went to the mall on Saturday, which is normal, since we have to buy things for the house anyhow, they have the coffee-table fishtank on display. One of them was really nice, half of it made into a small water plants garden which use to clean and recycle the water, the waste from the fishes will be use as fertilizer for the plants. I'd get one if I have space for it in the house, and no kids! (my 2 niece and nephew will definitely like it a little TOO much)

I got to watch a little of Zombie Loan episode one last night, only a little, since we were closing the store, I guess I'll watch it again later on, when I have no interruption. I also got Pan's Labyrinth, and again my aunt and mother watched it, I didn't. But what I've seen was good.

Last night I read an article saying that those that play on the comp or watching tv before bed will feel as if they don't get enough sleep, even though they get the same amout of Zzz as the one that didn't. That our body fooled itself that they don't get enough rest. Um...

Still before is the only quiet enough time for me to actually play anything on the comp w/o interruption, so I can't help it.

August 26, 2007

Watching : Mai Otome vol. 9

Well, right now I got a bunch of Anime that simple being put on back burner for one reason or another. Like Eureka 7, I bought it up to vol. 8 now and I'd yet to watch any of them. Same goes for Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, and then I picked up Rayearth. Yeah, I have more things to watch than the actual time to watch them. At least now So You Think You Can Dance is finished, so I won't have to load them and stuff.. still there's The Dead Zone, Monk that I'm watching. Also on the anime side Claymore, El Cazador de la Bruja. A friend of mine recommended Nodame Catabile. I'm deciding.

I picked up 'Happily N'ever After' the other day and watched it tonight. I liked the story, I do, although the pace was slow for my liking, but I do understand that it was made for a younger group of audience (kids) so, the movie needs to be at slower pace, (read somewhere that if you let children watch something face pace, their attention span will get shot to shit... ) Anyhow, while I was watching I was thinking.. Frida (the stepmother) totally wanted little (Cinder)Ella. LOL. Must be all the femmeslash I read! I actually have an idea for the fanfic too.. how sick is that!

I might just write it. Who knows. I've been writing things that didn't get post for a while now. I'm trying to go back DL again, but with all my files lost on my last comp crash... that just tough, so I guess I won't even try to remember what I've wrote, but just write the new scene, otherwise it'll take me eternity to do it.

And also new layout, yes, I'm deciding what I wanna do with it this time... which series or anime I should use as starting point. Another Shizuru maybe, or Natsuki. Or maybe Bellatrix. :) Also the layout for the homepage, which is long overdue. Probably another Fuffy, or maybe the Ella from Happily N'ever After. I feel so uninspired these days.

Also, I've been trying to get my workspace organized, something that's hard to do since I have more books in here than I should, so my next plan was to get some bookcases built, those won't be the store bought ones, since they are too deep for my need, most of the books that will go in there will be manga, and paperbag novels. Other ones that will not fit in those can stay in the shelves in my room. The shelves will be located in front of my brother's room down to my sister's since it's one continuous piece of wall, that will be enough for all the manga. I still have some in bags sitting on the floor due to the fact that I have no space in the shelves to put them.

I cleared a lot of things off of my desk, and made a monitor stand so the monitor is more my eye level and the keyboard could go underneath it, giving me space to write I wrapped up most of the cables, doesn't look as nice as I would've wanted, but it's better than the clutter I had before. It was a rat nest!

Of course, if I could get rid of the stuffs that I have then it'll be much better, but well, I just couldn't. LOL. I have to go through the stuff that I could throw away and just chuck those. Like boxes of the things I bought, speakers and games and stuff. I should get rid of that PS2 box too as well as printer box, since I won't need them. This weekend I guess.

August 21, 2007

Watching : Premonition

OK, I know I should be paying more attention to the movie, since I've turned it on for the 2nd time without really watching (no, I didn't finish the first time either.)

I'm gonna do a new layout for the blog as well as the homepage, because it's been a really long while that I did anything remotely creative. (yeah, ok, a really long while isn't even begin to cover it)

Saw Rush Hour 3 last night with 2 of my friends (no, I don't have that many, and I'd rather have a handful of friends than a bunch of people that will only share in your glory but never misery)

Another friend of mine is currently stressed to the max, what with her mother's problem that she had to take on and other things, if she'd told me about the renting earlier than she did (maybe only 2 days earlier) She would've been moving in and settled by now (well, we may have to fix a lot of things before that I'm not sure of the state of the house, since I haven't seen it yet) As far as I know, the bathroom needs work, but it'll still be done before this (been what, 2 months?)

Anyhow, we'll see what happens, she was suppose to be moving since 2 days ago, and I was suppose to go help her clean, but well, didn't happen yet, although, there's another place she's looking into.

Well, best of luck I guess.

I went and picked up Rayearth vol. 1, MAR vol. 9, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles season 2 vol. 3.

Now, I'll have to get Magic Knight Rayearth since I never really get them in the first place, I guess I could have my aunt pick them up for me.

What do I want.. um..

I do want a pair of new shoes. (Dr. Marten's, possibly) a new jacket, I guess I'll have her pick them up for me, and if she has space left then it's MEDIUM, Supernatural. I want Spiderman 3 dvd and Pirates of the Caribbean 3 but they come out the end of Oct, which will be too late. Oh yeah and Harry Potter boxset (7 books) If it's not too heavy that is.

Um... what should I tell her... grrrrrrrrr..

August 17, 2007

Watching : The 5th Dimension

I went to see Bourne Ultimatum tonight. It's pretty good, I like the action sequences and all that, but still, it reminded me the reason why I didn't go see the first 2 in the theater. The main character bugged me. Immensely. It's not even the impossibility that bothered me, it's the way his character was. I can't really explain it, but damn I wanted him dead by the end of the movie, too bad he wasn't.

Well, at least I have something else to look forward to, Resident Evil : Extinction. Oh yeah, next month, but before that I wanna try to make for Hairspray next week.

Also just saw the preview for the new Jodie Foster movie The Brave One. I almost don't care what the movie was about if she was in it, almost. But I will go see this one. Definitely.

Bought a speaker for Ipod, originally I wanted to get JBL, which cost an arm and 2 legs. In the end I got something else by Techlines, the sounds was not bad, and since I don't intend to really blast my way through the house, it's good enough. As for a better speakers, I'll considered it, when I listen to it constantly with it, which I don't.
